Eddie...

We went out to Eddie George's last night to watch the game. Basically, it's like ESPN Zone, only all Eddie George themed and right across the street from OSU. Around the 3rd quarter, Eddie came in and the place went nuts. He was right in front of our table for probably 30 minutes signing autographs. It was "Senior Crawl" up here, where I guess the seniors go from bar to bar having a graffiti party (signing each others shirts). Eddie toasted the class of 2006 and signed god knows how many shirts.

I didn't have anything for him to sign, but I did call Kathryn on my cell phone and passed it to Eddie so they could chat a bit. Pretty cool guy, and definitely showed patience towards fans.

Afterward, we went out with Melissa and Sarah, two friends of a friend, to Skully's for 80s night. Good times, good times. :)

This summer I hear the drumming...

On Ohio:

There's not nearly as much corn here as I expected.

Don't get me wrong, I know in my heart that it exists somewhere in this strange place... But I haven't seen it yet. Columbus has been great so far. We're actually out in Dublin...soo.. Not sure if it's one of those things where the locals cringe at the notion of it being the same locale or not. We're going to try to head downtown tonight if we can. Hopefully we'll be able to meet up with some friends of friends and kinda get the inside scoop on where the happening joints are.

On Work:

Work wise, things have been pretty productive so far and I think we're gaining ground. Hopefully project-X will be full speed by our public target date. It's one of those things where, I mean, it better be, because the press train is already in motion.

I tend to keep my eye on whatever end goal more so than anything else. In a lot of ways it keeps me balanced. The small shit that would annoy most people just tends to roll off. This particular project has sometimes tested that, but all in all, it's worked out. The flip side to it is that I rarely step back to truly take in everything until the end. I guess I just try to maintain a healthy fear of complacency. You don't want to do any premature back patting, ya know?

Anyway, playing around with the product today it finally started to sink in. We're going to pull this off and it's going to be a great website. We did it in approximately 3 or 4 months. The team I'm working with is an absolutely incredible, top notch group of people who frankly, could create anything thrown at them and do it in a high caliber, high performance fashion. That's a pretty cool thing.

Can't wait to get it off the ground.

Oh-Hi-Oh...

Back in DC last night.. Good thing I finished doing the laundry though, cause I'm right back out the door.. Columbus, Ohio, here I come (complete with my Miami hurricane t-shirts).

Rocks! Blogs! bloggingohio.com

About six months ago, I told Kathryn I'd go visit Ohio for awhile if she could find access to broadband internet. She was just now able to do so, and now there's bloggingohio.com. Coincidence? Or did Ohio just now get internet? ;)

Either way, it's great to see Weblogs, Inc. experiment with localized blogs. I hear the CMS under the hood over there is pretty badass.... ;)
